Pałac Wąsowo

Today this impressive neo-Gothic building is wedding chateau, restaurant and hotel. The German banker family von Hardt owned this estate from 1870 on. Shortly before 1900, in preparation for a visit from the Emperor William II to Wąsowo, adding another wing, an impressive gate and a restructured tower significantly expanded the Wąsowo palace residence.

After World War II palace and property were taken over by the Polish State Treasury and turned into state-run farms. Since 1995 the estate is privately owned again, was renovated and became a 4-star, luxury hotel and restaurant complex. In 2011 a sudden fire broke out on the top level of the palace tower, most oft the damage is rebuilt again, the tower roof is still missing.

The restaurant is very nice in historic decorated rooms. At my dinner is was quite loud, as a wedding ceremony run parallel in the room beneath.

All square photos are with Hasselblad 203FE and Distagon CFE 4.0/40, all rectangular with Canon 5 D III and EF 1.8/28. Interesting how different are the colors of the two systems, and the old Hasselblad definitely has more heaven and cloud details than the modern Canon.
