Poznań - Stary Browar

Stary Browar - a shopping, arts and business center was designed on the basis of a historic factory, the former Brewery Huggerów in November 2003 and is located in the center of Poznań. The total area of the Old Brewery is around 130000 m² and is home to around 210 stores and restaurants.

All photos are shot with my Canon 5D III and EF 1.2/50 L USM. Unfortunately my wide angle EF 1.8/28 became internally loose and needs a professional CLA. For this building the wide angle would have been the better choice, but it was challenging to use a standard lens instead.

Jazz Club Pod Filarami Gorzów - Jacques Kuba Séguin 'Litania Projekt'

As part of the 'Jazz Celebrations Gorzów' on 25th of November 2016 the Jacques Kuba Séguin 'Litania Projekt' performed at the Jazz Club Pod Filarami.

Jacques Kuba Séguin is a Montreal trumpeter and composer. His quartet features normally Frédéric Alarie bass, Kevin Warren drums and Jonathan Cayer piano, but in Gorzów he played with different musicians.

All photos with Canon 5D III and EF zoom lens 2.8/70-200 L IS II USM. This lens is ideal for the Jazz Club, with 70 mm a total of the whole stage from the back of the audience room is possible, with 100 to 200 mm portraits of the musicians.

Gorzów - Tsar at the Club Magnetoffon

Tsar is a Alternative/Post-Rock/Electronic goup from Szczecin, consisting of Patryk Lipnicki, Paweł Szerszeń, Tomek Haptar and Maks Posio.

All photos with a Canon EOS 5D III and EF 1.2/50 lens. The light in the Club is so faint, that I used maximum ISO 25600, the resulting noise is clearly to see.

Some impressions of the Magnetoffon Club.

'Enchanted Hunters' on Saturday 5th of November at the Magnet0ff0n Club, esoteric music by the team: Małgorzata Penkalla, Magdalena Gajdzica, Patryk Zieliniewicz and Michał Biela (Kristen).

Gorzów - St. Mary's Cathedral

St. Mary's Cathedral is the oldest building in Gorzów Wielkopolski. It was founded at the end of the 12th century on the site of the city's former church. The cathedral was constructed in the gothic style, although it also includes romanesque elements.

Yesterday I visited a photo exhibition inside the Cathedral and took some evening shots outside with Canon 5D III and the little EF 1.8/28 lens.

Today I visited the tower of the Cathedral up to the top as only foreigner with a big groop of Polish children. The tower is huge inside and the rooms are used as a museum. The guide explained a lot, I understood nothing. The church bell and turret clock photos are by smartphone.

On the highest point unfortunately all windows with the nice views over the town were closed and locked. The window glasses were quite dirty, so I quickly decided not to take any photo. But the friendly guide mentioned my disappointment and that I brought a big heavy camera (Hasselblad 503CXi, Distagon 4.0/40, PME45 and digital back) all these steps up to the top and without a word unlocked two windows for me and I could shoot some city views. Very nice guide - thank you.

Be under Arms - Russion Metal band in C-60

The C-60 Club in Gorzów from Autumn to Spring is a good adress for live Rock concerts. Friday the 7th of October the Russion band 'Be Under Arms' was on stage. This Metal band was founded in 2013 and comes from Moskva. The resentments against Russions here in Poland seems still high, only about 20 listeners although a great performance and good music.

Bar of the C-60. The name of the club comes from the C-60 music casettes, made by Stilon in Gorzów.
